DALLAS (Dec 09, 2003) - - Beiks LLC, one of the most prolific developers of software applications for handheld devices, announces a new version of its popular BDicty Dictionary Reader family for the Windows Mobile Smartphones platform. This release is Beiks’ first offering for Windows Smartphone devices in response to growing demand for applications for this platform.
BDicty is the award-winning handheld dictionary reader that enables users to view reference lexicons available at Beiks.com. Lexicons include classic language dictionaries, talking phrasebooks (for international travelers), medical, biblical and other specialized reference works, among many others. There are several free – both entertaining and practical – reference lexicons available for BDicty, many of which were submitted by current application users. Beiks’ collection of dictionaries is the largest, and among the most popular, assortment of international dictionaries and phrase books available for mobile devices.
The new Windows Smartphone version of the program was especially built from the ground up to reflect platform specific needs and requirements such as minimal display size and one-hand operation.
“BDicty Dictionary is one of those applications that is an essential add-on, and once it is used for the first time, people wonder how they lived without it,” said Bobby Kolev, president of Beiks LLC. “While connectivity is a great thing, there is nothing that works better than having the information readily available and only a few clicks away. BDicty puts the ‘smart’ in Windows Smartphone.”
American and European Windows Smartphone users traveling to Athens for the 2004 Olympic Games will benefit from the new Greek dictionary and talking phrasebooks developed especially for the event. They are expected to be released within a month.
