BEIKS updates InterType to support KOI-8 encoding

DALLAS (July 28, 2006) - - BEIKS LLC, the world leader in reference and language titles for mobile devices announces update of its popular localization product InterType for Palm powered handhelds.

InterType extends the range of languages natively supported by the Palm handhelds. Russian, Greek, Turkish, Serbian and others are among the most commonly used by both international travelers and language students. InterType is part of the BEIKS' broader set of language products, which include the award winning BEIKS dictionary series, talking phrase books and other travel and language learning aids.

The western world has widely adopted the alternative Windows 1251 code page standard for Cyrillic encoding. The new InterType release, with version 5.9, expands the range of supported encodings with the KOI-8, which can be vital for properly reading emails and SMS-es from Russia as well as certain web sites.
